I've got a '95 K2500, and I'm figuring out what year Chevy frames are compatible for swapping a plow mount. From what I've learned, most 1988 to 2000 Chevy and GMC full size pickups share the GMT400 platform, making them likely candidates. However, I'm still unsure about the differences between 1500, 2500, and 3500 frames and how they affect plow mount compatibility. I know the 2500 and 3500 frames have thicker material and additional reinforcements, but would that impact mounting?

I also want to know how factors like 2WD vs. 4WD, cab configurations, or HD (heavy duty) models affect compatibility. I've heard 2WD frames have different front end designs than 4WD models. Are there specific mounting points or frame sections I should compare to ensure everything aligns? Looking for anyone who successfully swapped frames or plow mounts between models to help out. I'm sure Chevy has made the frames the same from '88 to '98 at half tons. So your under carriage can be put on a 3/4 ton classic body style chevy up to 2000 yes. As for the one ton frames, they are different. Does this make sense?

That's great news about the '88-'98 compatibility. Will doublecheck the front end design differences between 2WD/4WD as those can throw a wrench in the works if they don't align properly. Does the plow mount rely on specific frame sections or is it flexible enough to adapt to slight variations?
