Been nursing this idea to build a back drag blade for my UTV/plow setup. I've seen a few DIY versions online, but I'm curious if anyone here has tried it themselves, so basically yeah, my main goal is to clean up tight spots and pull snow away from garage doors and curbs, stuff the main blade struggles with. I've got some scrap steel and basic welding tools, so I figure why not give it a shot? If you've built one or are thinking about it or just have some info on it, drop some tips, would really love to get some ideas before I start cutting metal.

I haven't tried it, but this is a great DIY idea for those purposes/places you mentioned. You can maybe repurpose an old plow blade or use AR steel for it. And you make ure angle matters because you have to consider clearance, too. Good luck!

That sounds like a perfect project. For the angle keep it at a slight one like 10-15 degrees only then for the materials, scrap steel works fine, and also use adjustable brackets!
my buddy approached me last week and asked help to build one for his UTV for the coming winter! we're trying to keep things simple and not overthink the design.. so our idea is to use a length of C-channel for the main blade and a couple of square tubes for the mount. we hope this one would be strong enough to handle the snow but also not too heavy to bog down his UTV.. we haven't really started on anything so it would take some time to give you updates if it materializes..
