Truck-mounted snowblowers

Been looking at truck-mounted snowblowers for a while now since we do a lot of residential snow removal. They seem handy, but from what Ive seen, they look a bit slow and underpowered. Does anyone here actually use one or know how well they actually work? The only brand I've found is SnowVac, and their 8' model which starts at around $12k, way too much if you ask me. Are there any other options out there? We've got plenty of 3/4ton trucks and like the idea of using them to move quickly between jobs. Thanks

If you're into getting it done cheaper you might want ot consider a used Hanson 84". It will need some work, but it's going to cost you about half of the Snowvac

You can also check auction sites or used equipment dealers too, if you have no issues with used items. Haisen BJR01 is a good choice too

Beyond SnowVac, look into brands like Haan Tech, Pronovost, and Erskine Attachments. And yes, you might even find good deals on used Hanson 84 models, which SnowVac is based on, like @IceIceBaby1 sugested! You're actually in a good position to find deals now that it's summer! Dealers are often looking to move inventory during the off-season. Check with local heavy equipment dealers, particularly those specializing in municipal or landscaping equipment. Online marketplaces like eBay, IronPlanet, and similar sites for used commercial equipment can also have good listings. Don't hesitate to call dealers and inquire about end-of-season or pre-season sales, as they often offer incentives during warmer months to clear out last year's models or get ready for new stock!

the $12k price is typical for new, purpose-built units due to their specialized nature so for that purchase, consider your typical snow conditions and whether the investment justifies the potential slowdowns in tight residential areas.. but i suggest you look into haan tech and other commercial-grade manufacturers like larue and even some smaller fabricators..

you know, instead of a truck, you might want to look into a UTV mounted snow blower. They're a much better solution for residential work.
A UTV can get into tighter spaces than a truck, and a lot of them have a more robust PTO system that can handle a much bigger blower.
and a UTV with a blower on the front and a plow on the back would be a super versatile machine that could handle almost any residential job and still move quickly between sites
